Poetry: Nothing I can do

by Kimberlee Decunzo

Created on: September 28, 2008

It'll never be mine
Not completely anyway
Though I long to be innocent
All troubles fade

It must hold me back
One way or another
Though I long to be innocent
I blame it on others

I can't change their ways
I try to be me
Though I long to be innocent
I am not yet free

Travel to my past
Way back in the day
Though I long to be innocent
It won't fade away

I must try to work through it
To see all the lies
Thought I long to be innocent
Takes more than one try

It lays there before me
The fork in the road
Though I long to be innocent
All this was foretold
