Yes, "Valentines Day", can appear to be a bunch of "hype" to many this day and age. As we look around at the last few generations we can see there seems to be a lack of Knowledge and or meaning of most of the holidays we celebrate.
And, yes we can debate as to the massive amount of money that is spent on flowers, candy, dinners, ect.. The list could be endless. Or we could still look further on the negative side and debate as to it's true meaning and how most are clueless to it's origin, (the roman days.)
However, I am an optimist, always have been and can assure you that I always will be. I am the kind of glass half full kind of person. I choose to be, it's all apart of ones perspective. Call me crazy, but I am a positive person, and try to find the good in everything no matter what the circumstnaces.
So,no matter how many people go crazy spending money frivlously, and maybe even a little irresponsibly on this one day of the year, trying to surprise, touch the heart, and show the one they love just how much they mean to them - I'm still all for it. Call me sentimental.
C'mon people, it's the one of the few days of the year that we get reminded of how much we love our signifigant other. It allows us to take a break from our every day lives, routine, work, kids, chores, school, whatever the case may be, and totally concentrate on each other. And ya get to shop and spend a little money to boot.
With all that we have going on in our world today, the economy, the wars, crime, the endless murder sprees by our youth, can't we just welcome this one rare day a year where we focus on love and not hate, peace and not war?
Valentines Day is a reminder of love to me, no matter how one looks at it. And no matter how much money our society waste and vendors make, better to be about love and our economy makes it, than to be about politics and war and our media and goverment make it.
You decide for yourself rather you would like to have one day thinking of positve and let the worries and cares of your present lives and situations, something you probably have no control over anyway.
Or add this to the list of the negative for all you pessimist, and spend your day complaining and whinning about all those that spend too much money on Valentines and or make to big of deal about the day, ect,ect...; again, something you have no control of, and pretty sure those around you don't want to hear it anyway.
Try giving them a rose, or just simply speaking the words, "Happy Valentines Day", you won't believe their reaction, you sure to get a reply, maybe even a smile, and if your really lucky - maybe a hug?
The options of the outcome knows no boundaries - love knows no boundaries either.
Happy Valentines Day!
