Poetry: Silence

Question of Silence

I write another page in the journal of my life,
words painstakingly etched
in black and white
and contemplate in bittersweet solitude
my fate, my place
in the Grand Scheme
and question whether to keep within
emotions rooted deeply
or bestow my hearts song;
I lament in weakness,
pretend that I am strong
and guard my essence
within the fortitude of silence.
