Tackling global climate change needs concerted effort. Countries can do it in larger scale but every individual has a role play in tackling climate change or global warming or the green house effect.
Fuels or gasses are burnt to produce electricity, to run a vehicle, to run an industry or even cooking at home. Before combustion takes place in an engine, it draws in oxygen from atmosphere and after fuel is burn to turn into energy, carbon dioxide and little carbon monoxide is produced, which release to atmosphere with the exhaust gasses . One atom of carbon combines with two atoms of oxygen to form one molecule of carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide are the culprits contributing the most in global warming.
From above it is clear that conservation of energy will ultimately contribute to the reduced emission of carbon dioxide or carbon monoxide.
Conservation of energy covers a very wide area. At individual level, even suing a public transport instead of car will cause the person to contribute in tackling climate change. Keeping unnecessary equipment or lights switched off will result in lesser electricity consumption and finally lesser electricity requirement for the power plant; in turn the power plant will produce lesser harmful gasses. Use of solar panel for water heating can considerably reduce poser consumption as well electricity cost. Awareness in individual for using the recycled green products will be contribute in tackling the present burning agenda of climate change
At government or organization level there are many things can be done to tackle climate change. In coastal areas with abundant wind flow, for power generation wind mill technology could be utilized. This process not only tackles the green house effect but cost saving projects also.
Forest fire is responsible for very large amount of carbon dioxide being released into the atmosphere. Some fires are natural and do not have much control but some forest fire are made by human to clear lands for agriculture, as is the case in Indonesia. Government has a greater role tom play in controlling human made forest fire. People need to be made aware on the effect of their action, they should be supported by financing and technology to refrain from firing the forest, if they can achieve their requirement by better ways without harming the earth.
Awareness need to be created in every individual on how our home that is this earth is pacing towards destruct by our everyday actions and what will be the result after thousands of years. Environment does not have any boundary or boarder. Actions of one country can easily affect neighboring or even far away countries climate.
