Are women really looking for father figures? Do men just take longer to settle down and mature? What's the attraction women may have for the older man? There probably isn't a universal answer, but lets see if we can identify some trends and themes.
~Older men "may" have mellowed out
Tempers tend to flare when we are young and impulsive. With some men maturity sets in and they are more relaxed and tend to go with the flow. They may very well be set in their ways, but are less concerned about what you do with your spare time. They have learned some patience. Most of them have given up on trying to change the world and everyone in it.
~Older men "may" know what women really want in bed.
Perhaps they have had enough experience that they are willing to talk about intimacy and make it a satisfying experience for both parties. It is at leaat worth considering.
~Older men "may" offer more security
Often older men have more stability in their life, or at least they are not living at home with their parents! They may have their finances in order and the home, car, and such already well in hand. It could be that they have sown their wild oats and they are ready to settle down in an emotionally secure relationship.
~Older men "may" have learned more about the way women communicate
Women like to talk about things. Women want to get feed back. Women want their man to listen to their problems, not necessarily fix them. Women want to believe their man is truly their best friend and would go to the ends of the earth to prove it. The little phone calls, cute notes, and surprises are really a way of a woman feeling close and older men seem to tolerate these things better.
~Older men "may" have their own friends
It's nice to have him go golfing and visit with his friends so you can do things that interest you. You can each have personal friends and mutual friends and it brings an interesting balance to the relationship.
~Older men "may" get along with your family
Older men may be more secure in who they are be able to adjust to your family in a personal and professional manner. They have something to offer in intelligent conversations about global topics. They may not be afraid to meet your family.
~Older men "may" have the gift of wisdom
Generally as we age we learn and gain wisdom. We tend to become better people and handle situations better.
~Older men "may" have manners
Words like "please" and "thank you" are appreciated. It's acceptable to open the door for your wife. It's OK to help carry the groceries in. Women like to know they are capable, but love to have help at least offered.
~If all else fails, older men "may" die sooner and leave you with a big pension and retirement package!
