Recipe - Spaghetti Carbonara

One of the main things about food that upsets me greatly is the expensive types of ingredients you have to buy to "properly" prepare nice meals. However I will show you how to turn a expensive dinner out into a simple and cheap meal at home! Now lets focus on Spaghetti Carbonara. Frankly speaking carbonara is just some word used at fancy Italian restaurants meaning: Hey! there's bacon in this! Unlike ordinary spaghetti which uses a marinara sauce, cabonara generally uses a cream sauce. So before you try and Google or ask your parents for the recipe I will show you a basic recipe that will have everyone begging for more.

First off here is what you will need from your local grocery store:
Spaghetti noodles 1 pound bag -one dollar-
1 pack of bacon -five dollars-
Parmesan cheese (a simple jar that you would use to sprinkle on spaghetti will be just fine) -3 dollars-
Garlic (powder will be just fine)
Black pepper
Salt
Half and half milk 2 quart container(its usually at all stores just look) -3 dollars-

Total cost: 12 dollars
Serves: 2-4 people depending on appetite
Cost to eat this meal at a restaurant 15ish dollars per person
You save: 18-48 dollars!

Step 1: Cook noodles in a pot and drain the water when done.

Step 2: While noodles are cooking, cook a handful of bacon to your desired temperature ( should be roughly a half pound)

step 3: In your pot add a table spoon of garlic and a pinch of salt and pepper

step 4: Add half your carton of half and half milk (about 1 quart)

Step 5: Add you noodles and bacon to the mix.

Step 6: Once it starts to boil add your parmesan cheese to thicken it up (thick or soupy its all up to your taste)

Step 7: Serve in a bowl and enjoy!

Burning this dish is virtually impossible so don't trouble yourself over it! It is quick and easy and best of all it has been made with simple items from your local grocery store!
