Breakfast on the go

Are you like most - skip breakfast, then wonder why your energy is zapped and your day never really gets of the ground?

I know, you have no time, there aren't great breakfast options, and really....YAWNNNN...who could be bothered?, Lunch will do.

STOP - alright so we all know that "breakfast is the most important meal of the day" (Insert another yawn here!), but lets get serious, unless someone offers an easy, efficient, tasty way of convincing us to make it so, we just aren't going to bother.

So here it is, your quick list for inspiring, yummy and sustaining breakfasts on the go:

* Toast...but not ordinary toast. Try something different like Spelt, or a specifically
Low GI bread (seeded or wholemeal for extra flavour). Unlike usual carbohydrates that
bloat you and don't sustain you, these
options offer good nutrition, and slow energy release - they taste great too.

* Fruit...Honestly people, it couldn't be more simple. Grab banana, peel, eat -
apples can be munched in the car, bananas eaten anywhere, and grapes are fantastic,
juicy and fresh snack at any time of the day, so lets reintroduce ourselves to
the basics, and rediscover the fast food that nature provided us in the first place!

* Leftovers - this may sound desperate, but you need not tell anyone.
Instead of throwing away your left over dinners, place them in a microwavable container
and just reheat come morning - I guarantee you, your stomach will be so greatful for
the food, it won't even recognise that your eating dinner for breakfast !

* Okay, your'e out of bread, and your fruit bowl is rotten (you should have eaten it like
I told you to !) - you are in a serious rush, and want to "cheat"...by this I mean
you are headed for your nearest drive thru take away ! Thats fine, no need to head to
confession just yet - there are options that are available. Try a salad (A rather well
known fast food chain whom we won't mention is now offering such options), even a
low fat muffin and juice, or a salad and meat wrap will do okay. If all you can
get is a burger - then just eat the meat and salad, this will provide protein and
energy, without the unessesary filling of sugar laden bread.

* Food Pool - No seriously, stick with me...why not arrange for a small group of workmates
to take turns supplying food everyone in the group each morning. That way, for
for instance, if you have five people in
your "food pool" group, you only have to provide food one morning of the week.
You can all put ideas into a hat, and pull out a suggestion for your turn.
This could be a fruit salad, sandwiches, or even a catered breakfast from the
local deli.

If all else fails, Move back home - At least then you will be assured of someone caring for your nutritional needs, and caring enough to provide you with a large, healthy breakfast that you can eat on the run.
