Naked Truth
If I'm such a free spirit
Why do I feel so trapped?
Like a bird with clipped wings
Anchored by a metal cage.
How much longer must I force a smile?
Why do I always have to be so strong?
I want to laugh, I want to cry.
I want to scream, I want to sing.
So many conflicting emotions.
I just want to be free,
To be me.
Is that too much to ask?
Why do I always have to wear this mask?
Always trying to hide this lie
Perception is a funny thing.
It goes hand in hand with perspective.
Things are rarely as they seem.
You have to dig deeper.
Appearances are deceiving.
Afraid of what you'll find?
Naked Truth.
Truth will find you out.
But truth can set you free.
