Poetry: It's over

by Brandi McDaniel

Created on: September 27, 2008

I thought I was over you
but it only took one touch
to make me remember
how I felt about you.

You are poison to my body
but I'd drink you anyway.

I know that you are half way gay
but I really thought we'd be together again someday.

I wish I could keep these feelings at bay
but you have me in your hands like clay.

I know that you would never stay
because that has become your way.

No matter what you try to say
this isn't a game I want to play
not a price I want to pay.
