ROUGH ECONOMIC TIMES REQUIRE YOU TO MARKET YOUR PRODUCT MORE WISELY BUT WITH ENTHUSIASM. Get excited about your product or service, if it fits a need, find out what that need is, and fill it. Continue to promote and market your product all year long, there are people out there that want your product, if you cut back on your marketing or promotion you will lose valuable sales and new customers.
). Get new customers and turn them into LIFETIME Customers to build your business. Look at the product in a different way, what are the benefits of the product, who is buying it now? Review the most important features of the product, and then check if you are using them in your advertising. Too often businesses use the same ads, month after month, and the ads get stale, and the customers go to the competition.
). Run your marketing plan all year long including small space internet ads in the websites that attract the customers that have the disposable income to buy your product once, and then keep selling the over and over. A real goal in this economic downturn, is to go back to your customer list, and sent them by email, regular letter, a new offer to buy your product. You customer need to hear from you. If not, he/she will go someplace else to buy. Stay in front of your customer all year long.
). Review the sales from you top customers, when you see some not buying, call them to see if you can help them in this economy. Tie your product or service into opportunites for your products to help them make profits and succeed during these time. You are need by your customers, and helping them solve problems, permits you to sell them over and over again.
). Look at new lead products for your business. A lead products is one that is sold at lower price, but is wanted by the new customer to see how your products work, and can be just the "jump start" your need to build trust and confidence in your relationship, to sell more in the future.
). Try new things in your marketing plan that you never used before. Develop a seminar for free to attendees, and show off your expertise, and products and services. Speak at you industry association, chamber of commerce meeting, give a graduation speech at your high school or college, have a Customer Appreciation sale with l0% off for the month of December, get an interview by your local or regional newspaper to tell them about yourself and you business. Write a letter to the editor on how you products can save time, money, engergy and give green advantages to the earth. Send out information to your industry magazine on how you are running your business to save energy and money for your cusotmers. Keep trying new things and when you find the ones that work, keep them going to increase you business. Good luck.
