While it's not a new trend woman marrying older men still seems to turn heads and start people talking. Why is it that it's so widely gossiped about? She's a gold digger or he's desperate, why can't they just be in love? Marrying an older man has its benefits even if it does come with a built in rumor mill. The trend of older men and younger women has been around for centuries so why is it such a big deal now? After all love isn't dictated by age so why do we try and make it that way?

What is it about marrying an older man? How much older is considered older? My husband is eight years older than I am, so is he technically in the older man category? What is the attraction to older men? I don't think it's the father figure even when the man in question is twenty years or more the woman's senior. I think it's a matter of love and in some cases even security. Older men are more mature and don't leave you feeling as if you have to finish raising them because of some idiotic stunt they pull once a week. The amount of stress a woman in a marriage to an older man feels is greatly reduced by the amount of maturity he possesses as well.

Most men don't even begin to grow up and enter into reality until they hit about 40. The thought of spending years getting men to act like men instead of little boys that can run around doing whatever they please can give a woman a headache. A family, home and a financially stable future on things that have to be worked at to achieve and some younger men refuse to do this. When they get paid they run out and buy the first thing they see and wonder why the bills aren't paid. This can cause an extreme amount of stress on the women in their lives whether they realize it or not. Older men tend to have gotten most of these impulses out of their system and the bills get paid first, making them a comforting harbor to the women in their lives.

Communication is a vital part of marriage and it's often easier to talk to older men. They have over time learned to listen and pick out the important details of the conversation so they're actually having the conversation that you're having which is a refreshing change. The idea of spending hours trying to make someone understand that you don't talk to hear the sound of your own voice is frustrating and you often give up or begin yelling. There are fewer arguments in marriages to older men because of the fact that they actually listen.

Older men make the most incredible fathers. They take the time to play with the babies and occasionally they offer to watch them so mom can relax. They even venture into the world of feeding them and the best part is that older men will sometimes pick up after themselves. Now what woman wouldn't want a grown man as her husband and the father of her child?

A woman will marry an older man when she's tired of playing with the boys that have reached the age of adulthood but refused to grow up. Marrying an older man is one of the best things that a woman can do. Marrying an older man gives a sense of security and they are often more likely to help out around the house since they believe in taking care of themselves.
