REMEMBER?
I saw a tear trickle down her
her beautiful young face.
"Mama... I'm here".
she looked up and
Mama said,
"I have to go home to Jesus
darling."
"Why Mama why,
we have only had 12 years together!"
but Mama said, "He wants
me now
my sweetheart."
"I want you too," I cried.
but Mama said
"I cannot change that
my darling."
"I also need you Mama!"
and held her close.
"I know," Mama said,
but she was too weak to hold
me back
and together we cried,
then Mama said
"Show me how brave you are."
I held on to her tighter
"I am I am."
then Mama said
"I love you my angel but
even angels have to go home
sometimes."
"You are a real angel Mama,
you are braver
than me."
Mama tried so hard to smile
as she opened her
beautiful young pink lips,
and Mama said...
"We will meet at the
top of those lovely white
stairs my angel, remember?"
she very gently
smiled.
Then Mama said
nothing
more.

I never did.
Mama said,"Stay in school."
I dropped out.
Mama said, "Don't do drugs."
I did.
