I have used these nappies on my baby (6 weeks old) for a couple of weeks now after previously using both pampers and huggies. They are good quality at a low price with a standard carry pack (approx 35 nappies depending on size) costing just under 4. As with other brands economy packs are also available (approximately 55 napies) for 5.29 along with a good range of different types of nappy. They are very good value for money, which is an important factor during these tough credit crunch times.

We have experienced no leaks as of yet, which I had with huggies several times... and that is not nice for baby or you having to try to get it out of the clothes! They are absorbant albeit not as absorbant as pampers, however, my daughter has not developed a nappy rash... another pre-requisite for nappies!
Two things I have noted about these nappies, which I did not get with pampers, is that they go rather hard when they have absorbed the urine and that they sometimes left little bits of nappy on my babies bottom when worn for a longer period of time... not a major concern.
I tried Tesco nappies as they were recommended to me by a friend who had also recently had a baby, I was however also informed that when baby starts to sleep through the night that the Tesco nappy would not do and "accidents" would result so I'd recommend a different brand of nappy for nighttimes once your baby is sleeping through.
Taking this all into consideration I would rate Tesco's nappies above Huggies and as a decent cheaper alternative to Pampers for the cash conscious parents/grandparents/guardians.
