I find myself, reluctantly, having to agree with at least one other Helium writer who has deemed the question at hand to be outrageous. Even considering the thought that the Bible is a work of the devil is totally and absolutely unacceptable with me! However, for the sake of this article I will attempt to do so.
To a perverted mind which seeks only to criticize and condemn, I can see where the Bible could be viewed as a work of the devil. This is especially so when we consider all of the ills present in the world today. And we want to, inevitably and predictably, question and then blame God for all of this. But the perverseness of our society today is not God's fault. He put man in charge of this world and if anyone has crewed it up it is man. God allows man to run this world as he sees fit and what we live in today is the result. So why did God allow men to rule this world? It is because that is the way man wanted it to be. Down through the ages, man has never been able to accept God as his leader and we have continually wanted to appoint our own leaders. That is why we have, for instance, a President, to run this country. The only catch to this is that the one who was appointed as the leader was suppose to be accountable to God before the people of the nation. How long has it been since this was a reality? Or was it ever?
The Bible is a work of the devil? No! What is happening in this world is a work of the devil! The Bible is the only source which provides us with a way out of the mess we are currently in.
We then have to consider Christians, who are the Bible Believers. If there are indeed so many of us who actually do believe what the Bible says, why is our world in such a state? It is because we, as Christians, don't really and actually "believe" the Bible. If we did we would be not only reading and studying what it says but more importantly, we would be doing what it says. We simply are not doing as God wishes us to do. We are still in our Christian Infancy, fighting and fussing and arguing over matters of what religion is right and what religion is wrong instead of just getting on about our Father's Business. Time will tell who is right and who is wrong so why are we wasting God's time with this?
We are at a stand still in front of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil when we should have been advancing toward the Tree of Life ages ago. Where is our faith? Are there any Christians left who think they know what faith is any longer? We can read in the Bible what faith does, the results of faith, how to get faith, how to keep faith strong, but does anyone know exactly what faith is? Well tell me then, how can one operate in faith if he/she doesn't even know what it is? This is largely why people outside the church tend to ask questions like this. It is our inability and unwillingness as God's People, to prove our God through His Word. That's why people, some of them Christians, walk around saying that we don't have to tithe any longer and speaking in tongues is of the devil. From this point it isn't a long haul before one starts to believe that the entire Bible is a work of the devil.
In my opinion, the Holy Bible (King James Version) is the only sacred text remaining on earth today. To say that it is a work of the devil diminishes me personally, as well as the church corporately, in ways that I cannot even begin to imagine. But then, isn't this just exactly what our enemy, the devil would have us believe?
