They are men of courage, men of pride and men of determination. Many wrestlers would do everything in there power and then some to step into the squared circle, and be considered in the same sentence as people like Lou Thesz, Ed Lewis and Ric Flair. A sport of legit tough guys, men who are so passionate about wrestling they risk limited time with family, broken bones, travelling all over the World. No other sports athlete will endure the same amount of pain and punishment that wrestlers endure. The risk to there health is great, but the reward is remarkable.
There have been many changes throughout wrestling and the WWE, from The original Nature boy Buddy Rogers heel antics, to huge fan favourite Bruno Sammartino having a remarkable reign as WWWF champion many years making a great amount of money, main eventing in the Worlds most famous arena Madison Square Garden, wrestling against the likes of Killer Kowalski and "Superstar" Billy Graham. Who in his own right is a legend, and doesn't get the credit he deserves his career didn't take off straight away. But in time the fans took notice of Billy Graham with his great physique and sporting his tie died t-shirts, his promos unique speaking in a lot of rhyme and rhythm. Billy Graham influenced the likes of Hulk Hogan, the comparison between the 2 is noticeable.
Moving onto the 1980's which is when wrestling started to be a marketable business, before it wasn't known in that way. But one man had a vision and a blonde haired guy with great physique in which he could use to play on his vision.
1984 was a very important year in wrestling, and one moment happened then that would change the way wrestling is looked at. Hated wrestler The Iron Sheik defended the title against Hulk Hogan, Hulk Hogan would defeat Iron Sheik for the title. And it's that moment that would charge such a boost in the wrestling economy and for the WWF that Vince was like a kid in a candy store, the territories were pretty much dead as Vince was doing a massive takeover Vince chose the best talent from all over the territories.
It was through that we got wrestlers such as Roddy Piper, Bon Orton Jr., Paul Orndorff, Jake Roberts, Ricky Steamboat and Randy Savage. Through the 80's we got many memorable moments, and will still be remembered for years to come like Hogan slamming Andre as 93,000+ watched on and cheered for there hero conquering the Giant. Roddy Piper was able to bring us Piper's Pit, which brought us some of the most entertaining moments
