The Kingdom of God is very real. However most try to understand it with their human minds. No one can ever know God through the mind or intellect. The Book of Romans states:
"For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace,
because the mind set on the flesh is HOSTILE TOWARD GOD; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so" (Romans 8:6-7).
The true knowledge of God and His Kingdom must come from the Spirit realm where God lives. John 4:23-24 states:
"But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.
"God is spirit [spiritual being], and those who worship Him [know Him] must worship in spirit and truth."
God has a triune nature: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. All are spiritual beings. The Son came to earth to accomplish many things but before and after He was a spirit. Jesus made this of utmost importance when one seeks to know God or understand the mysteries of the Kingdom. In Mark 16:13-17, Jesus was with his disciples and He asked them:
"Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?"
So they said, "Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets."
He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"
Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
Jesus answered and said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven".
Many interpret this scripture to mean that because of this Peter was the first Pope of the Catholic Church. But Christ is not saying that. He is pointing out that intellectually and through rumor no human could identify Christ as the Son of God. It took divine revelation from God to reveal this.
Man is also a triune being: spirit, soul and body. The spirit is meant to be the preeminent part of his nature, ruling over the soul and the body. The soul is mutable in that it can be controlled either by the spirit or by our fallen nature. In most, the soul dominates over the spirit. The soul is the seat of our emotions, our will, our intellect, our individually, independence from God and generates the vast majority of evil. On the other hand the spirit is life, joy, peace, longsuffering and kindness (see Galatians 5:16-17).
Paul, author of Galatians, put it this way:
"walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh (evil
