There are thousand and one ways to study college, but what are exactly the best methods to study effectively and attain good grades? The answer is that you have to study SMART and not study hard. Many people out there are very hardworking but yet they do not attain as good grades as those who are over achievers (good in everything: studies, work, activities and clubs). The trick is to pick out the right stuff to study. Listen to your lecturers carefully, they are the one setting the papers. So look for some very useful tips and hints that will help you to ace that paper and do well with flying colours.
Here are some ways to study in college. And almost everyone does last minute cramming. Below are some ways to do effective studying. Good Luck! Everyone knows that last minute cramming for exams isn't going to help. But, many people still do it due to lack of time or procrastinating too much. Hence, me being a last minute crammer, would like to share some tips for people who cram or study at the last minute.
1. Smart studying/selective studying - This would help if you have been attending lectures and tutorials faithfully. Try to identify the important parts by listening to the lecturer. Study those topics well and you are bound to score.
2. Look at past year papers - Look at the past trends, lecturers often repeat those questions. So, if you are hard pressed for time, turn to past year papers for help. Practice makes perfect. If you have more time to practice over and over again, i'm sure you will be able to ace that exam.
3. Stay Awake - This is one of the most crucial aspects of last minute cramming. You have to do anything to keep you awake. Coffees and green tea have proven effective for me. Have some music in the background to ensure that you do not doze off.
4. Stay away from distractions - This applies to anyone who is studying, not just for the last minutes crammers. Stay away from distractions like the laptop, computers and even friends, especially those whom you love to chat with. Try to switch off any laptop and computer that are within reach. Have the music and radio on instead and do not spend your time on changing fms and music.
5. Listen attentively - As mentioned earlier, this is very useful. Lecturers will tend to drop hints and tips for the students. This is especially so when it is approaching exams and tests. Lecturers will tend to concentrate more on some topics that are most likely to come out for the exams.
Here's wishing you good luck for the last minute studying!
