OVER PROTECTIVE MAMA
If I don't want her to fall down
I feel that it's my place
To catch her when she tumbles
Before she scrapes her knees or face.
If I don't want her to feel the pain
That has crippled this worn heart,
Can I not wrap her in my arms
Before the heartaches start.
Chorus
Am I an
Over protective mama, am I too blind to see,
Am I hurting more than helping, should I just let it be,
Over protective mama, well I'll carry that with pride,
Because at least I care enough, if not too much, about my child.
Say what you like behind my back
I simply do not care,
Don't tell me how to raise my child
I know what's best for her.
I see your eyes a-watching me
When I take her into school,
I hear the whispers, see the stares
I am nobody's fool.
Chorus
Am I an
Over protective mama, am I too blind to see,
Am I hurting more than helping, should I just let it be,
Over protective mama, well I'll carry that with pride,
Because at least I care enough, if not too much, about my child
So before you judge and gossip
Bout the methods that I use,
Take a step back and look around
At those parents who abuse.
Just be sure to stay out of my reach
If you have the nerve to speak,
Cos' this mama's much tougher than she looks
And I wont turn the other cheek.
Chorus
Am I an
Over protective mama, am I too blind to see,
Am I hurting more than helping, should I just let it be,
Over protective mama, well I'll carry that with pride,
Because at least I care enough, if not too much, about my child.
