You called again last night
And my heart didn't skip a beat
Those sentiments I felt a year ago
My heart has seemed to defeat
There is nothing left inside me
To feel for you the way I did
Where my emotions once ran wild
My heart rate is now a flat line on the grid
There is only a strangeness left within
It's like I don't even know you anymore
An incongruity of sensation
Towards the person I used to adore
You act as though I know you better
Than anyone else you've ever met
Well that's true because there's nothing to you
Behind the lies and chaos I can't forget
Now you've found your savior
To save you from yourself
I saw a fresh faced photograph
I'm glad to see you've established your health
But I can't help to notice that curl to your lip
And that strangeness behind your eye
On the outside you seem to have found peace
But on the inside you may still be living a lie
Because I've realized that relief is only temporary
We still are who we are at the end of the day
We can cling on to our saviors
But it won't stop our mind from leading us astray
I know your troubles
They are the same as mine, and his, and hers
We have an innate knowledge of good and evil
But with our human condition this stupidity still occurs
I appreciate you're authenticity
I can only value those who are real
I understand you're a victim and so am I
It is all the same emotions we feel
You say you don't know anything about reason
You were never rational, the same as I
But I can't communicate with you the same way
It's just different, even if I try
We can laugh about it
And you understand my entire idiosyncrasy
But you're mind is closed to certain things
And I am still living in a world of eccentricity
So for now we'll stay on this surface level
Of two people who knew each other so well
Thought they were on a journey to paradise
But somehow found themselves in hell

Falling into....
While, Beatles sing, "The night before",
I type this poem to my friends.
My heart becomes, an open door
and
We Are
You are the sun.
You are the moon.
You are a thunderstorm
In June.
You are the thorn.
You are the rose.

HOMEWARD
You walked into a wasteland
with the sun in your wake,
and the breath of life
on your lips.
You gathered the shadows
For Being You………
How am I to thank you;
For I owe you such a great depth of gratitude.
What am I to

I Dream of One I Love
I never, ever thought I'd fall in love.
All my life, I thought I knew what love is.
Then I met you.
