Beginning your life together is a learning experience and one that teaches the best lessons in sharing you will ever have to face. Every couple will find the best way to share not only their lives but also the daily jobs that make their house a home. Sharing feelings, sharing ideas and sharing household responsibilities will ensure a long and happy life together. This ingredient has the power to make or break a marriage.
To have an honest, open and meaningful relationship, we need to learn to share. For some of us it is as natural as breathing, for others it is difficult and challenging. We share our feelings both good and bad with an understanding that this is what marriage is. There is no greater discovery than to find that one person to share your life with and together you make each other complete. Sharing is vital to a happy, healthy marriage.
Strong communication skills will help you build a strong and intimate relationship, one that will last a lifetime. Being a couple never means loosing site of your own wants and needs. You bring your life's experiences to the marriage and so does your spouse. I believe it takes honesty and a great deal of openness to make a good marriage.
Today, both partners usually work outside the home and often have built their careers first. They enter into marriage as independent adults who want to share the rest of their life with someone. As challenging as it can be, it can also be an easy and wonderful transition. There is no greater discovery than to find that one person to share your life. It is important to the success of the marriage to share with your partner.
Share your feelings, both good and bad. Anything worthwhile is worth time and effort. Being able to share concerns and worries is just as important as sharing the joys and successes. This person should be your best friend, the one you can count on to listen when necessary and support you always.
Sharing in an honest, open way will allow you to grow as a couple. Do not be threatened by this honesty, but flattered that you are trusted enough to deal with both the good and the bad. This will enable your partner to come to you first for advice, reassurance and support. Sharing ideas and opinions is also necessary for a strong marriage. No two people ever agree on everything but a mutual respect for one another will always keep the lines of communication open. Knowing you will not be judged by your spouse, but respected for your point of view is a wonderful solid marriage.
Sharing the household responsibilities is another important consideration, especially if both work outside the home. Taking care of a home is a great deal of work. Sharing the chores is not only fair, it is necessary. Each brings certain talents to a marriage, one may be the better cook, the other could be better with organizational skills. This balance will make a marriage successful.
To have this one special person to share the good times and bad, the joys and the sorrows, is what marriage is all about. Knowing you can depend on one another will lighten the load and allow you the time and energy to enjoy life to the fullest.
