A vegetarian of any preference will face difficult decisions when deciding where to go out to eat. I am personally a vegetarian or more specifically a lacto-ovo vegetarian which means I eat eggs, milk and cheese as compared with vegans who do not eat dairy or meat. So this is speaking primarily to others like myself.
When you go out to eat you can go almost anywhere you just have to know how to order what you want. If you go to Taco Bell you can order their 7-layer burrito or just order one with meat and ask them to replace the meat with potato. All the ones I have been to will do that for you. Also places like burger king and McDonalds are now offering veggie patties for their hamburgers if you are like me and would rather not have one of them you can simply ask for more vegetables in between 2 buns or even better just go to subway their you can get cheap vegetable filled sandwiches.
Also if you go to somewhere nicer remember to be nice to the waiter or waitress they can get you almost anything you want you just need them on your good side. I went to one restraint for breakfast and asked her to take the pork and such out of the omelet I had ordered (did I mention I like eggs). Then she promptly offers other vegetable replacements that I could then add to make a vegetable omelet something they did not have on the menu. And it did not take any extra money or time just a friendly smile and a request.
But remember to always look back over what you order at most places I have been to this is not the case, but in some you ask for them to just leave out the meat and they promptly put in pork and such never once considering that pork is meat. So when you go out to eat at someplace that you are unfamiliar with always double check what you order.
If you go to the same place often enough try to get the same waiter. With time he may remember your dietary habits. If you go to the same restraint many times (Like the one closest to work) this can save a lot of time in the long run. I have done this before and I became good friends with a few of the waiters their so that I did not even have to request no meat they would be the ones to ask and make sure of what I wanted. And I never had to worry about finding meat in my food.
In conclusion you can eat anywhere just be sure to order what you want don't let the menu limit you there are always choices that are not found on any menu.
