In this day in age, the internet is the ruler of all. The internet is the source for everything. Now, the fad that is sweeping the nation is that of fantasy sports. No matter what sport you are a fan of, there is a fantasy league for you. There isn't just fantasy football and baseball anymore; there is now fantasy golf, NASCAR, hockey, basketball, and even wrestling. No matter how little your favorite sport's fantasy fan base is, you still need to know who to pick #1 overall for the next season.
1. Fantasy Wrestling (WWE) - #1 Pick - Triple H
The game of fantasy wrestling may not be popular; neither may be their #1 overall pick. However, fantasy wrestling is one of the oldest fantasy leagues. Believe it or not, fantasy wrestling began in the 1980's with a mailing league called E-Wrestling. Now, on to their number overall pick. Triple H may be aging and not be as popular anymore, but he is still a favorite for the victories in the WWE ring. The script of the WWE always seems to have Triple H winning matches. Usually, fan favorite John Cena would take this title as #1 overall pick because of his overall fondness from the fans. However, Cena seems to be oft "injured." Whether he is injured or making a movie, it just means he isn't in the ring and isn't giving you any fantasy points.
2. Fantasy Golf (PGA) - #1 Pick - Tiger Woods
This one is nearly impossible to argue against. Tiger Woods is the most dominant athlete in a particular sport. Even though next fantasy golf season will see him coming off a knee injury that has sidelined him for quite some time, Tiger Woods is that good of an athlete that it just won't matter. Tiger Woods is golf. No matter who he is playing against, they have no chance to beat Tiger. They can't even beat Tiger when he is injured as he showed against Rocco Mediate at the 2008 US Open. Once again, the words Tiger Woods and number 1 unite, this time, in fantasy as well as reality.
3. Fantasy Golf (LPGA) - #1 Overall Pick - Lorena Ochoa
With the closest thing to Tiger Woods in the women's side retiring in Annika Sorenstam, the new #1 pick goes to the back to back winner of the LPGA's "MVP." This year alone, she has won the Kraft Nabisco Championship and the Corona Championship. She became the first LPGA tour member to win back to back majors since Sorenstam in 2005. I would say since Annika Sorenstam playing her last LPGA hole in November, this is a safe bet.
4. Fantasy Cycling - #1 Overall Pick - Alberto Contador
The 25 year old Spanish phenom
