Poetry: If I could

by WhiteWings

Created on: September 24, 2008

If i could take back all or one
Of the things i've said and done
I would do so, but that wouldnt be me.
Our tears and hurts and fears...
Some have them as kids it seems.
Some marry into them, some live with it lifelong.
If I could I would have stayed away from you
If I knew then what I know now
I would not have smiled at you.
I painted you in a barrel
I left you in a band
Thats my way to it. If I could understand.

So I dance in my head and sing in my brain
And I live in a fishbowl under the sink
My inner world is perfect and I am well loved
Its the hard crusty shell that makes it ill dwelled.
You removed my personality I removed your faith in me
In you trying to humiliate me all you did was succeed
In having your friends question your sanity.
If I could I would use my eraser and remove that.
Something smells, I think its the garbage.
YOU still in there? If I could... you would
Still be there...
