It is through family values and hard work that our country has based many of our individual rights upon. Presidential candidates should put family values at the top of their priority list. Family values are formed through honesty, integrity, loyalty, compassion, and a love of people. When a presidential candidate possesses these great traits, they will be a great leader for our country in the year 2008. Sure, families today are unique. They are blended through race, sex, and divorce. It is through the ability to accept families from all walks of life that will help a presidential candidate soar once elected into office.

Race is an issue, that unfortunately, will most likely be amongst controversial topics which relate to families. We all need to look into the hearts of people and not look at their skin color. A presidential candidate with family values that are top notch will look right through the race factor. Families are complex and when allowed to work together, each family member will be allowed to perform up to their full potential. A working family is self sufficient and does not rely on others to support themselves. Therefore, a win-win situation for all involved.

Homosexuality has became another issue that has been placed at the forefront of the presidential campaign. A presidential candidate with true family values will be accepting to a homosexual, from a human being point of view. Homosexuals are human beings and deserve to be treated in a humane and respectful manner. Basic human rights come into play and a potential presidential candidate will want all people to know that all people should be treated fairly. Again, value upon the family will benefit everyone. When families get along and work well together our society does not have to provide financial support to these people. By being acceptable to all people, we all have a better chance of succeeding in the future.

Divorce has came into play quite heavily the past few years. Many children spend part of their time at Mom's house and then onto Dad's house the rest of the week. Children are resilient, for the most part. Unfortunately, all children are not able to adapt to the necessary changes that occur within families when divorce happens. Therefore, it is extremely important that a presidential candidate understands how important family values are to each child in our country. Our children are our future. Many children from these complex families will need to learn how to adjust to life outside of a single parent home. These children may need extra mental and social support throughout their lifetime. And, just because children come from a two parent home, this does not imply that they may not also need additional help adjusting to the real world.

Our world is complex. We live in a busy, fruitful society. We are always on the go and striving to be successful each day while in the work force. Through our jobs and families, we as Americans, are working together to put family values back on the top of our daily agendas. It is through the family values that our presidential candidates will allow our country to flourish through the honesty and truth that our country was built upon. Without family values, where would we be? I am afraid to think of the consequences, should we stray away from the integrity our forefathers built our country on. Therefore, our presidential candidates need to put family values back into their campaigns. By working for the people of America, our candidates will be able to gain respect and flourish once they are elected in November 2008.
