Yes we are headed for another depression and for those of you that think we are not in a recession yet, WAKE UP! This country is falling apart and now the government is going to help the mortgage and insurance companies get out of the mess they are in. Part of the reason they are in their mess is because the state of our economy is killing the people that are trying to keep up with their house payments and can't.
The number of families becoming homeless is rising along with the cost of heatingoil, gas, milk, and every other daily need. It is ridiculous that I have to go to the store and pay $3.82 for a gallon of milk. And it seems like every time I go grocery shopping the price of something else has gone up. More and more people are falling behind on bills, myself included, just to keep their families fed, clothed, and warm.
The recession is here and the depression is coming sooner than we would like to think. The harsh reality is that there is nothing we as the average American can do about it. The fate of our economy and the financial future of our country lies in the hands of the government. The scary part of that is the fact that they are the ones that put us in this position in the first place.
I am waiting for the day to come when I go to the gas station or the store and they tell me that I cannot buy on certain days. That is how things were before and I believe that it will be that way again. Every family will be given rations on certain days of the week. WE will be forced to live with it too. I am not looking forward to a bigger economic decline but I am betting that it will come to exactly that.
Does anybody remember how the Great Depression started? The stok market crashed. The instability of the stock market right now is getting scary. It has been doing the yo-yo for over a week straight now. It's up. Then it's down, up, down. When will the cycle end?
No we are not at the same level as The Great Depression..........yet. The percentages an statistics are not the same.........yet. Companies keep outsourcing jobs to other countries for cheaper labor. What do you think that does to our unemployment rate? Companies are closing up and moving their entire operation to another country for cheaper labor and other things that will benefit their bottom line.
People losing their jobs left and right. Some people are also leaving the workforce just because that cannot afford to work. I had that very problem myself and I am dealing with it right now. I am working part-time but 3/4 of my paycheck goes to the babysitter. It gripes me even more that she is not claiming that as income so I cannot claim it on my taxes so I feel like I am throwing money away just so I can go to work only to end up with enough left over for gas and maybe a few groceries.
I'll say it like it is. THis country and the pathetic economy is headed for a disaster that it has not seen in over half a century.
