US elections 2008: Why the economy, race and sex will make this presidential election epic

This election is a wake-up call for our country, for if this election is a repeat of the last two we just might not have much history left as a free democracy, and that will make history. A democracy is as good as it leaders, and this election has brought this truthism to it's apex. Bush and the Republicans have left a huge mess for the next President. The voters are starting to wake-up, that it is indeed to their best interests to make well informed decisions when casting votes. Our voters have elected leaders who have our country embedded in a illegal occupation of another nation, an economic crisis and reputation for being impotent against a terrorist enemy. Bin Laden is still a free man.

In this turmoil of events, the doubts of the future, and the bailouts of the lying and deceitful that has been going on voters are now having to look at the mess we created and do something to clean it up. This is a nation that is ruled by the people, and when the people roll over or do not cast their vote wisely if they cast it at all then we all pay the price, and in this case hundreds of thousand of lives have been lost because of morally wrong decisions combined with a deafened media.

This is a historical election no matter which way it goes. The people are now in the position where there is no more room for mistakes. Voters have to prepare to not only vote but be active in their cities and neighborhoods. The voters will have to hold leaders accountable for their actions. Regulations and laws have been discarded and ignored. We have killed, tortured, and stole all in the name of freedom and democracy. That is not what America stands for historically. Historically America has been a leader of nations, a beacon of hope to the suppressed and a welcomed friend. In today's world we are at best a cash cow. A stumbling administration has lead this country into a unneeded war and now into bankruptcy. It is the voters who will have to shoulder the blame for this and it will have to be the voters who change if we are going to have much more of a history left.

We need a president that is going to do more than change. We need an extraordinary communicator to talk to the world and convince them that we are not a arrogant, ignorance that strikes out in fear when thought and prayer are what needed. We need to elect a president that has a will to change the way things are done, a president that "gets it" and that is that this country is in deep trouble and we have to do everything we can to get ourselves back to being the leader of the world morally, economically and politically.
