SIGN OF THE TIMES
It happened one night as the rain crashed down
his heart pounded with fear, his head with pain
He searched for the cause as the red devoured him
sirens were echoing as the ambulance came
Seeking relief from what seemed like forever
he called his wife for normality
She answered and heard what she thought was a gasp
it kept her from knowing the reality
His life slipped away while holding the phone
she would hear his voice no more
And now her remaining loved ones
would have to get on with life as before
He died in vain of a gun shot wound
that came from a stolen gun
From a man whom society had changed
into a lifeless creature to shun
Where has the concern for another gone
in these troubled times that we share
And can there ever be peace among us
in a world that has become so unfair
His wife prayed for humanity to change
for what she knew she could not
So I ask the person reading this
is it a sign of the times...or not?

IGNORANCE IS BLISS
There was a time,
When things were usually good,
When ignorance was bliss,
A time called childhood.
However,
