Written and directed by Kevin Smith (Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Reaper); "Zack and Miri Make a Porno" is to hit US movie theatres on the 31st of October 2008. The movie tells the story of lifelong friends Zack and Miri and their plans to make a pornographic adult film together. They both have some serious money issues, and realising that there's a lot of money to be made in the porn industry; they decide that making a porn film of their own is most definitely the way forward for them. They've always been good friends, will they discover whilst making this film however that their feelings do in fact go deeper than that?
If you've ever seen any of the Jay and Silent Bob films then this will give you an excellent idea about what to expect with "Zack and Miri Make a Porno". I've always held a great admiration for the work of Kevin Smith and love many of the movies that he has directed to date. The humour is always excellent, and if you've ever watched one of his films and enjoyed it in the past then there's really no reason why you shouldn't enjoy this film also.
It's a comedy/romance movie and what you can expect with "Zack and Miri Make a Porno" is plenty of laughs, and always plenty of enjoyment also. Given the title of the movie you know long before watching it that it's not going to be particularly serious; it does however have that element of romance and the idea that these two lifelong friends may hold feelings for one another that they had never before realised.
Kevin Smith is a very funny man, and with this movie has chosen a supremely strong cast. "Jay" of the Jay and Silent Bob films features here (Jason Mewes), as to do a number of other excellent comedy stars such as Gerry Bednob, Betty Aberlin, and Jeff Anderson. Playing the part of Zack is Seth Rogen, and the character of Miri is here acted out by Elizabeth Banks. Pretty much the entire cast has history in silly films of this sort; it's a real who's who of juvenile comedy, the sort of comedy that Kevin Smith truly does do best.
So with such an excellent writer and director as Kevin Smith, and such a powerful comedy cast as this; you can rest assured that you can rely on "Zack and Miri Make a Porno" to provide you with plenty of laughs and have you completely in stitches throughout. "Zack and Miri Make a Porno" will be a brilliant movie, and when it comes out on October 31st I'd most definitely urge all to go see it.
