CHILD OF MY SOUL
I don't know where you are or when you'll arrive,
but I know you'll be here soon.
You safely rest in the womb of another,
but my barren womb calls out for you.
I have not yet heard your heart beat,
but it beats in time with mine.
My eyes have not beheld you,
yet your face is known from my dreams.
Though you are flesh and blood of another
your spirit has been shaped from mine.
Through long years of prayers sent to heaven,
God has ordained your soul to merge with mine.
I wait with open arms for you
my precious little one, the child of my soul
