Hot Summers Day,
As I woke this morning
From a troubled sleep
Of which I knew not why
Yet a lot later that day
I would find out the reason why
It was very warm outside
On this one hot summers day
And has been like this every year
On that day every day
For on this day of which I speak of
Would be this little angels last
A day on Earth to laugh and live
And the worst day that haunts my past
He was such a happy one
Not a single care in the world
For him to leave so early was not right
To this day it angers my whole world
Every time I was around him
It brought a smile to my face
Even in what I thought were dark times
Little did I know what was to happen?
Though I had to still embrace
Wishing I could go back to that day
And change what happened to him
To bring back his smiling face and joy
This happy being
But as I don't have that power
So I only must go on
Hour by the hour
His soul is now in a better place
I know in my heart he watches over me
For he of which I speak of
Is my beloved nephew
He will always be loved
And may he rest in peace
He will always be my family

Poetry: Summer nightmare

I hold a force inside until it spills, hot and hurting
From my eyes and heart
But today

I am the horror you invite to enter
Through the gateway of your imagination
I cause fear to flourish in the mind
Whenever I

Nightmare #468
The smoke plumed through the gunshot holes
in the train window
like thick mud gurgling up
from the primordial
