Lemon pound cake is a delicious and mouth watering cake made with lemon glaze. It is a great alternative for boring chocolate cakes and cream cakes. It is very easy to prepare in your house.

Ingredients

1 cup softened butter
2 cups flour(all purpose flour)
1 cups sugar
3 teaspoons vanilla extract for flavor
4 eggs
1/4 cup oil

1 teaspoon baking powder
salt as needed
1/2 cup lemon glaze(available in the market)

Preparation Method

* Heat the oven to a temperature of 375 degree Fahrenheit.
* Grease a loaf pan with butter and spread a wax paper on it.
* Take a large bowl and in it take the all purpose flour and add a pinch of salt and baking powder to it and mix well.
* Take another bowl and take butter in it. With a blender mix the butter well. slowly add a cup of sugar while mixing well.
* Add eggs one after one and mix well before adding another egg.
* After this, add vanilla extract add mix well.
* Add the butter mixture to it and mix well.
* Pour this mixture on the pan and bake continuously for about an hour. Test with a tooth pic to know whether the cake is prepared.
* Keep the cake aside for cooling after taking it out from the oven.
* Pour the lemon glaze on the cake and on sides. Let the glaze soak into the cake by letting it like that.
* The cake is ready to be served and to eat.
* You can also eat it chilled.
