by Mike Hatcher

Created on: January 13, 2007   Last Updated: May 09, 2007

Movies have always been a huge part of my life. specially the older movies. Me being 21, you'd think I'd enjoy "todays" movies. Well no and my reason is because of todays technology. They make it so hard to believe, and the fact that all they re doing now is remaking movies that were classics and it irritates me. the industry is running out of ideas!

My movie choices range around the late 80's to the late 90's

and they are

1. THE TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES

Released in 1994, 4 turtles, Leonardo, Michaelangelo, Donatello, Raphael, and their master Splinter, who was a rat, are all humanized when they come in contact with "ooze" All growing up together, they learn to, walk, talk and fight all while enjoying pizza. At the same time the evil Shredder, is trying to take over the world, while they try everything in their power to stop him.

I only liked the first turtles, and that is because the 2nd one was a little disappointing, there was really no point, other than Shredder returned. Plus the 3rd one was a shame, mainly because they all looked so young, especially Splinter, in the first movie he looked like he was goin to die any second, then the 3rd movie, he looked all healthy and young.

The Turtles are by far and have always been my favorite cartoon/movie. It has be a big family favorite.

2. RUDY

Released in 1993, starring Sean Astin, A true story of Dan "Rudy" Ruettiger, a small Notre Dame football player who struggles and struggles to play for his favorite college football team. After endless attempts to join the team from painful tryouts and practices, he fails and fails, finally he is finally accepted. The only problem is, he sat on the bench the entire season except for the last game. In this game he proved himself to the players, the coaches and family, that he finally did what he wanted, that he did his best and never backed out!

This movie showed that if you set your mind to something you really want and it is achievable to you, then go for it. Let other people push you down and let them say negative things, but don't let it tear you down. Prove to them you can do it and you are made of something.

If you fall, pick yourself up, dust your self off, and try again!

3. American History x

Hitting the theaters in 1998 with powerful performances by both Edward Norton and Edward Furlong, this movie really took racism over the edge. but taught you the trouble it can cause and the payback it can have!

A white supremacist, Derek Vineyard, realizes that mistakes he made in his
