Automatic pool cleaners: Robotic pool cleaners take the work out of summer

I was visiting a friend of mine who had a swimming pool the first time I saw an automatic pool cleaner. I dove into her pool after a long hot day of helping her in the yard and encountered a device that looked something like a vacuum cleaner slowly scooting around the bottom of the pool. It seemed to move at random but did keep a good job of keeping debris off of the pool's bottom.

Her pool cleaner was attached to her pool skimmer and powdered by a stop, start, function. This worked just fine for her but it also ties up the pool skimmer. This means if you live in an area where bugs are likely to land on the surface on your pool where they will drown and float until there bodies become waterlogged. When they sink your pool vacuum may or may not be running.

This is not the only kind automatic pool vacuums that are on the market. My friends pool cleaner only cleaned the bottom of her pool, but there are robotic pool cleaners that can be purchased that can clean everything from the bottom of the pool all the way up to the waterline. This type of pool cleaner does not rely on suction from your pools filtration system for power and therefore does not keep your skimmer occupied. You just drop them into the water, press a button, and off they go. Some of these even come with remote controls. This would come in handy if you're a perfectionist and you think your pool cleaner might miss a few spots if it's allowed to run on its own.

Automatic Pool Cleaners will lead to a cleaner pools overall because both the surface of the pool and floor of the pool will remain clean. You also don't have to worry about the expensive of hiring someone to clean your pool or having to take time out of your schedule to clean the pool yourself.

The only drawback to having an automatic pool cleaner is the noise. You don't hear it when you're outside of the pool. It's completely silent then but if you're under water you can hear the sound of the motor running. I can't speak for everyone but when I am underwater I only want to hear the sound of the water and not the sound the pool cleaner makes.

There are many different brands of automatic pool cleaners on the market today. Some of these are Polaris Pool cleaners, Dolphin Pool Cleaners, and Tiger Shark Pool Cleaners. Each brand features all different kinds of pool cleaners at different prices.
