The weather fulfills the promise of spring
Those glorious days the sun will bring.
Shorter nights and long warmer days
Basking and glowing in golden rays.
Hopes revive to greet each new morn
Darkness flees the approaching dawn.
Shadows draw back and then disappear
Like hidden thoughts of doubt and fear.
When nature provides a gentle breeze
To play a symphony in the trees
We hear the music of creation's song
And find the place our souls belong.
On dark cloudy days when winds are cold
We know that each season will unfold.
Just on the edge of awareness streams:
That summer is all of our winter dreams.

JUNE DREAMS
Outside the window the hemlock pine's
Branches are waving gently in a heat undulating
Breeze that is early summer.
by Judy Furniss
Scorching hot summer in fallow land
Dust devil stirring dry loose sand
No sign of rain for a month or more
Cracking clay
Summer
It seemed like summer would never end
playing beneath the willow tree.
We'd dance among dandelions and
chase butterflies
by E Kuzmenko
Jean shorts and flip-flops,
Sunglasses and sunscreen
Tank tops and swimsuits
Painted nails and bleached hair.
Driving around
by Robert Conn
The sounds of bathers in the ocean
Towels, chairs and suntan lotion
Expensive beach-side shopping strips
Sun-bleached hair
