Old Man
Have you seen the old man
sleeping on the bench
clothes disintegrating
life etched on his face?
This weather beaten fellow
with medals on his chest
once he was a hero
now a nameless face
Have you seen the old man
all bent, worn and grey
never has no time to talk
carry's on his way?
Memories are fading like
a candle in the wind
carrying his home around
in a plastic bin
When did he, give up on life
or life give up on him?
To see the way he lives his life
breaks my heart within
