Magic Words
The little girl sat
curled and ribboned
legs dangled.
She wanted more rice
What do you say?
Her mum peered, knowingly.
I'd like some rice
What do you say?
She waved the ladle, tauntingly.
All she needed
were the magic words
Please may I have.
The young girl sat
across two coffees
odd socks on.
She wanted a hug
Where do we go?
She looked at him, swimmingly.
I just want you
Where do we go?
She looked at him, contractedly.
All she needed
were the magic words
I love you.
The lady lay
baubled and ripped
dampened on the floor.
She wanted to forgive
Why did he do it?
Her eyes shut, screamingly.
She wished she could forgive
Why did he do it?
Her eyes shut, deeply.
All she needed
were the magic words
I'm sorry.

Poetry: Wants & needs
by L. Dalton
The Whirlwind
The wind blows cold against my back ,
then burns against my face.
I feel it's pushing and pulling me around,
never
I want unbelieveable happiness,
Permanent sunshine, clear blue skies
Garnished ever so lovely by clouds
Distinctly poised
Sunrise you brighten my days, you lengthen my happiness.
Sunrise you fill me with a love and joy
that I never want to end.
What do I want?
I want to be kind
when it's easier to be mean,
I want to be enthusiastic
when I don't feel keen.
I want to be
by C.D. Pomfret
Fading Fast....
All I want to do is drink
Then complain about the wrath
I enjoy the time I spend while drunk
But dread the pains
