Does Michael Vick's Punishment Fit the Crime? Ask the dogs what they think should happen to the man, who forced them to fight till they killed a dog or died themselves. Honestly, I bet the dogs would say that he deserves more punishment and less fame. He should be made fight for his life, while a crowd of people cheer and do nothing to help. I believe that Michael Vick should have gotten a stronger sentence, because of the many dogs that died or was maimed while in his care.

He is a celebrity, which is the only reason that he didn't get more time for this horrific offense. Many of these precious dogs depended on him to love and take care of them. However, instead he fought them for money and brutalized these poor animals on a daily basis. Some of these animals were rescued, but many were euthanized. The ones who survived are being rehabilitated, by many different shelters and volunteers who care.

Michael Vick should serve time for each dog he tortured for fun and financial gain, instead of getting a light slap on the wrist. Do the dogs deserve any justice or are they forgotten, because they can't speak for themselves? Pit bulls aren't naturally mean, but they can be made into killers by a heartless pet owner like Mr. Vick. What about these dogs, do they have a right to live and be protected from this type of abuse.

They never had a chance to make a deal or beg for their life, so why should Michael Vick be allowed to make a deal with the courts. Honestly, he deserves a lot more punishment than he got, because of his actions and the amount of dogs involved in this case. Only a sadistic person can watch two dogs tear each other apart for financial gain. Furthermore, he should lose the money he gained from this barbaric business practices and it should be given to the survivors.

Many of dogs lived a horrific life, since they were tied to chains or hooked to training apparatus at all times of the day. They never had a chance to chase a ball, visit a park, or just be cuddled by their beloved owner. Not to mention, that the dog fighting ring had many spectators that were never brought too trial for their part in these dogs suffering. How many other dogs were killed or maimed, before he was caught?

Is he sorry, due his career being lost or does he finally feel some kind of remorse for what he did? Michael knew what he was doing and that makes him accountable for his own actions, regardless if he promoted or participated in the events. Honestly, he left the injured and maimed dogs to die, like they were just common household trash. Therefore, I don't believe that Michael Vicks sentence actually fit the crime and he should do more time.
