Buying a wedding dress is one of most important aspects of the wedding for many brides. I know that it was the first detail I tended to when I was getting married. I had in mind the sort of dress for which I was searching. I knew that I wanted something simple and elegant. I did not want big bows and lots of sequence. I knew that I wanted candlelight instead of white for the color. I also knew that while I wanted my dress to make me feel wonderful, I didn't want to break the bank buying it.

There was a sale at the local David's Bridal, I decided to make that my first stop. While, unfortunately, I did not care for any of the dresses on sale, I did find a perfect dress for under $600. It was the first dress I tried - it made me feel fabulous and beautiful. I bought it. I didn't second guess myself and wonder what else might be out there for me. I trusted my instinct and bought it and took it home that day. I don't regret my decision for a minute.

I watch the shows on television about the out-of-sorts brides and the brides that spend thousands of dollars buying the perfect dress and they all seem miserable. Planning your wedding is not supposed to make you become a horrible, obsessed person who cannot think rationally. You are supposed to be calm and are meant to enjoy the time with your future husband.

When looking for a dress, know what style you want, how much you would like to spend and don't second guess yourself once you find a dress you like. Most of all, don't forget to enjoy every minute of planning the first day of the rest of your life.
