Importance of dates in a Muslim diet

Dates are a very important factor in muslim diet.It holds a special position in muslims diet because it was one of the favourite food of our Prophet MUHAMMAD(P.B.U.H).He told us that only taking 4-5 dates in a meal can fulfil your energy requirement.The Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) said that a house without dates has no food. It should also be eaten at the time of childbirth.He also treated a person suffering from heart disease from dates.He(P.B.U.H) gave him dates in a specific amount mashed together with their seeds.During ramadan the fast is broken with dates because it is the sunnah.


Dates have a very significant medical importance.According to research done in western countries dry fruits are very good for health.According to American cancer society adult persons should take 20-35 grams pf dietary fibers daily.Accordingly dates are yhe important factors to get these fibers.Dates posses the most amount of poly phenoles out of all dry fruits.Dates eaten in reasonable amount in a certain amount of time contain 31 grams of carbohydrates.So we can sat that dates have treasures of energy.These carbohydrates contain 3 gram dietray fibers and 29 grams of natural sugars for example fructose,glucose and sucrose.
When we eat dates,our body quickly tries to digest it,because of which we get energy.According to thid eating dates in iftar gives us quick energy.
Dates are a natural source of potassium.It is a most important component required during the process of muscle contraction and relaxation.Potassium deficiency causes weakening of heart muscles and it is very important for activity of nervous system.
According to medical experts,if we keep getting an extra 400 miligrams of potassium,it reduces the risk of paralysis to 40%.Which can be attained from dates.Dates also contain different kinds of b compllex vitamins in which thiamine,riboflavin,niacin,vitmain b-6 are included.These vitamins helps our bodu to digest carbohydrates,lower sugar level,or balance it,and convert fatty acids into energy,and makes heamoglobin.
Dates also contain traces of calcium and magnesium,which are good for bone growth.It aslo contains iron which makes red blood cells.
According to scientific studies,it has been proved that pregnant women and women who are feeding thier children,get a lot of benfits from dates.Dates contain some stimulants which strenghten the muscles of the uterus,and thus easies the delivery process.
In short dates are important in treating respiratory diseases,heart diseases,anemia,constipation.As it contain calcium and magnesium,thats why dates help in preventing cancer.It is good in preventing digestive diseases.It also helps to make heart strong and active.
