There is a multitude of things that can be done to address climate change. There are things on a very personal level which everybody can do. Just a few small changes from everyone can make a significant difference. There are the basic things which are advertised on a regular basis: turn electrical equipment off when you aren't using it; walking instead of using the car; switch to energy saving light bulbs; turn your heating down by one degree and many more energy saving products you can buy. One the next level there are more expensive energy saving ideas these include: double glazing, solar panels, personal wind turbines, loft insulation and wall cavity insulation. These costs more to establish but you actually save lots of energy and money in only a few years. All these things help move towards reversing the effects of global warming but on a large scale things have to change.

The country needs towards self sufficiency. A massive amount of pollution is released by transporting food, cars and electrical products from abroad. This could be cut down by the government subsidising British products and reducing the trade with other countries. Also prevent the use of bio fuel, whilst it is an answer to the fuel problem it is grown on mass in developing countries which are desperate for the money. To provide enough land for growing the massive amount required they are burning down the rainforests which in itself creates lots of greenhouse gas but also the large loss of trees prevents the carbon dioxide being used and turned into oxygen. This leads to the next point. Where massive forests used to exist now there are large numbers of houses. There are too many houses in England and there is an estimated 865,000 unused houses. There is no demand to keep making more. These houses need to be done up and put back on the market. This should decrease the house prices, which believe it or not is a good thing, but more importantly should release more land to be left as wild land, public greens and forest land. These plants and trees can act towards reducing the amount of carbon dioxide and water both greenhouse gases are in the atmosphere. Back to the fuel problem car pollution whilst not that high in UK is not as bad as other countries, places like America have very high car emissions. One way that this could be tackled is to invest money into the Japanese Hydrogen fuelled car. This is a very environmentally friendly option in comparison to petrol or even diesel cars. Also this would be a long term solution to the oil crisis and would allow people to afford to run their cars. On a much larger scale hydrogen fuel could be converted to heat homes and completely remove the need for gas and oil, this would prevent further damage to the North Sea which could be having unforeseen effects on the environment.
The final thing that needs to be done is get every country to agree to work together. It is no good Europe making all these changes if America or China won't or vice versa. Everyone needs to change the way they produce things and how they live their lives to make a cleaner safer future.
