Whether you've been together for a few months or for years Christmas gift ideas for your boyfriend can be difficult to come up with. What you get him will be affected by how close you are and how long you have been together. There are some things you will feel more comfortable giving than others, you may or may not want the gift to be extremely personal depending on how long you have been together.

While cards are often given at this time of year they don't qualify as a gift. If you give your boyfriend a big blown up picture of yourself he might like it or he might think you're a bit vain and too full of yourself for his taste. The gift that you give your boyfriend for Christmas is about him and showing him how much you care not showing him how much you think of yourself.

What if your boyfriend into? Cars, racing, art or something else; it doesn't matter as long as you put thought into the gift you give him this Christmas he'll be sure to love it. All he has to know is that you got it for him with love and his tastes in mind. You have to keep in mind who he is and what he does when you begin to shop for him during the holiday season.

You can get him a subscription to a magazine that showcases his interests. That way he will be able to read about what he loves all year and stay up to date on the latest trends in the areas he enjoys. You will want to give him one on Christmas day so he has something to look at besides the slip for the subscription until the magazines start to come in.

If he listens to a particular band you can either get him tickets to a concert that is coming up after Christmas or a CD that they can listen to. If he likes to listen to music in the car and you have been together for a long time you could get him a CD player for his car if he doesn't have one already.

Does he hunt or fish? If he fishes you can get him a new tackle box or a fishing rod and reel. (That is if you know his taste.) Coolers are great for a long day on the lake with or without a boat. He won't have to leave his favorite fishing spot for lunch or do without lunch because he can pack up everything he needs in his cooler.

The main thing with Christmas gift ideas for your boyfriend is to remember that they are for him and not for you. So keep him and his likes in mind when you are shopping. Remember he loves you so he will love whatever you get him or at least pretend to in order to keep your feelings from getting hurt if he doesn't.
