GLUTTONY
The cheese is old and moldy
On the upper crust of life.
Complacency's so thick,
Never cut it with a knife.
Weeping masses cry out
For a bit of bread,
While weak wealthy whiners
Are "broke", yet overfed.
All across the globe
Starvation freely kills.
Still, obesity is king
In the realm of Happy Meals.
As inhabitants of Opulence,
We pray for their relief,
Yet seem somewhat reluctant
To gladly share our beef.
For those of us with plenty
Look to the hungry and the poor.
Can't we make some sacrifices
So they'll not have to anymore?
Or is that asking far too much
From folks who hold on tight
To the belief that gluttony
Is an inalienable right?

A gift, sent forth from Satan
some stare with greedy eyes,
a tempting, glittering jewelry box,
of death, destruction,
