Drink recipes: Creative cocktails

by Bonny Obrien

Created on: September 18, 2008

I have been a bartender in the past, and have had many requests for a drink that is "something" different, mostly from women. They want something that tastes fruity or sweet, or made with milk. I have tried many different cocktails in my time, and here are some of my favorites.

Almond Joy

1/2 oz Amaretto Almond Liqueur
1/2 oz White Creme De Cacoa
2 oz light cream or whole milk

Shake all the ingredients with ice, strain into a cocktail glass.

Creamsickle

1 shot Amaretto
1/2 shot Triple Sec
2 oz sour mix
4 oz orange juice
1 splash soda water
In a highball glass add ice and all the ingredients and stir well.

Chocolate Covered Cherry. ( this is my favorite )

I make this one in a pint glass.

1 shot Kahlua
1 shot amaretto
1 shot White cream De Cacao
drop of grenadine
Fill with milk

Fill mixing glass with ice, add ingredients, and shake well. Top with a cherry, if you have one.

Climax

1/2 shot White Cream De Cacao
1/2 shot amaretto
1/2 shot Triple Sec
1/2 shot Vodka
1/2 shot Bananna liqueur
1 oz milk
Fill mixing glass with ice, add ingredients. Shake, strain into chilled cocktail glass.

Chocolate Banana Banshee. ( really yummy )

3/4 oz Banana Liqueur
3/4 oz White Cream De Cacao
3/4 oz Kahlua
1 oz milk
Fill mixing glass with ice, and the rest of the ingredients, shake and pour into a highball glass.

Girl Scout Cookie ( my second favorite)

1 shot Peppermint Schnapps
1 shot Dark cream De Cacao
1 shot Bailys Irish Cream
1 shot Green Cream De Menthe
fill with milk
In mixing glass add ice, and all the other ingredients, shake well, pour into a pint glass.

Malibu Bay Breeze

1 1/2 shots Malibu Coconut Rum
Equal parts Cranberry & pineapple juice. In highball glass add ice and ingredients, stir.

These are just a few drinks that I enjoy, and I hope you will as well. When mixing cocktails the possibilites are endless.
