One bright beautiful sunny day in August in Williams, Arizona, I decided to go on a horse trail ride. My husband dropped me off and left with the two kids to a petting zoo, since they were too little too ride. I slowly walked toward the horses and wanted to pick out my own horse. The horse that I was petting had a nice shinny black coat and a cute white diamond shape on top of his nose. The guide wouldn't let me pick out my horse that I was petting and wanting. I was beginning to almost back out of this trail ride. I usually don't do them because they are boring and being in the forest it seemed challenging to me so I gave it a whirl.
He instead gave me another pretty brown horse that fit my size, being 5'1" you don't get much choice. Therefore, I ended up with a completely different horse and not the one that I really wanted. The trail ride seemed to drag on and as we all came to a stop the horse that I was petting began to walk towards me and nudge me with its head on my leg. I think it wanted me to pet it again maybe I shouldn't have gone up to it in the first place but I sure enjoyed petting that particular horse. The horse I call diamond since it looked like one on its cute nose had to finally given up, because we began our trail ride again. I noticed it stayed directly behind me. I think it attracted to me because I was giving it attention and these people here who take care of them probably don't do what I did to this horse. I just don't know to this day I believe it was just because of a little bit of tender loving care.
The boring trail ride was over but what truly cracked me up and made my day was this horse that had a white shaped diamond came up to me again. It wasn't going to give up on getting my attention. It kept constantly rubbing on my leg. The guide had to pull the horse away from me since; I was waiting for help to dismount off the horse. That horse just wanted me again for the third time he or she came up to me rubbing me again on my leg. I wasn't getting hurt by it. I have never had so much affection from a horse. Not being a horse owner really hurts since I do love horses.
Afterwards I went up to that horse and it let me pet it for the longest time. I couldn't ride it because it was too tall for me to handle, I assumed. I think being short has its handicaps but I know that if I had the chance I would've enjoyed ridding that horse. Since it liked me so much and always wanted to rub on my legs for attention.
I don't think that I'll ever come back to this ranch to ride horses again but I'll always remember the beautiful black horse with a cute white shapped diamond on it's nose. I can either remember it by calling it diamond or by nudge becuase it rubbed on my leg.
That was the funniest thing that I ever experienced with horses.
