Dad I Love You More

It was my day to be with my four year old son

we were playing having so much fun

He said "dad I wish that you could be here all the time"

I said "son I will never be that far away, your in

my hear every second of every day, just know

I will love you for all time."

As the day passed and it was time to go

he said "daddy don"t you want to see your green-bean grow?"

he grabbed both my legs as I headed towards the door,

looking up at me I could clearly see, great big tears

running down his cheek, and it ripped my heart out when

he tried to speak. as he cried "daddy I love you more"

More than all the stars up in the sky

More than all the toys I could ever buy

Just stay with me daddy and let's play car here upon the floor

Dad, I love you more...

As I bent down we both embraced and I wiped the teardrops

from his face I said "son if there was any way you can bet

that I would stay, But now it's time for me to go and I

love you more than you will ever know" I kissed him and

I closed the door crying hard I heard him say "daddy

please stay. Daddy I love you more"

More than all the stars up in the sky

More than all the toys I could ever buy

Just stay with me daddy and let's play car's upon the floor

Dad, I love you more.

Laying here crying in my bed, I close my eyes and bow my head

asking God to whisper in his ear, the words I want my son to hear

"Son I love you more"

More than the stars up in the sky

More than all the toys I could ever buy

Just stay with me son until once again we play car's on the floor
