Like diamond shards, trapped,
Pricking my eyes
The tears will be blood, soon,
But I do not cry
The waters are deep,
The rivers swollen,
My soul in seclusion
Waiting

Sequestered,
Quarantined,
The poison that weakens me festers
Smothered, behind the masks and graves

Trampled and churning
My soul into mud
I wallow in misery, but strong
For the storm will break,
But never will my tears be what fall
Taut,
Holding back,
A canvas of sky that stays dry
A barricade,
A barrier
A wall
A lie
My tears will not fall
I do not cry
