While maintaining the BMW standard of breathtaking elegance, at first glance, the 2009 BMW 7 series boasts minimal design innovation. Closer inspection reveals there is method in this minimalist approach to the new luxury sedan. Taking an unforgettable ride in the 750i reveals less is a great deal more.
Slide into a magnificent blend of neutral colors, comfort, functionality, and organization. Equally gracious to its passengers as well as its driver, the BMW 7 series hosts optimal new features right at your fingertips. Active Comfort massaging seats and climate control with "draft-free" vents offer a warm welcome before shifting into drive.
The glide of the 18 in alloy wheels turn pavement into silk, courtesy of all new power train technology. The fresh Dynamic Damping Control System provides shock absorber firmness as well as the option to change shock settings, speed, steering ease, and smoothness.
Turn on the tunes with extensive hard drive music storage. The new optional adaptive cruise control has stop and go capability, equally effective for freeway and city travel. Among the 7's exciting new safety features are Active Blind Spot Detection, High Beam Assist, and Night Vision.
The BMW 7 senses oncoming vehicles in or near the driver's blind spot, notifying the driver through a vibrating steering wheel and blinking LED on the exterior mirror. High beams automatically dim to oncoming traffic, returning promptly to bright when the way is clear. Night Vision indicates pedestrian presence on or near the roadway.
The 750i and 750Li are set to make their U.S. debut at the International Auto Show in Los Angeles, California in November 2008, and will be available in the U.S. in spring of 2009. Each sleek machine is powered by a 4.4-liter twin turbo V8 engine.
Despite the size of the 7's motor, the BMW 7 is as efficient as it is luxurious. Incorporating aluminum into the hood, roof, doors and front fenders shed 120 pounds. Inside the grill, a flap implant decreases drag, preventing unnecessary airflow.
European models of the BMW 7 series include the 740i and the 730d with diesel-fueled engines, returning 32.6 mpg. Impeccable combination of performance and extravagance make the 2009 BMW 7 series an experience worth gliding into.
