Twilight...
How dare you disturb my choir of crickets?
I sit alone outside in the dark for a reason.
Watching for the night with vagrant eyes;
It's dark enough that I don't have to look
At you, or anything else in particular.
Still, you speak endlessly of nothing;
You should at least keep time with the cadence.
While I train my senses on the gathering black,
And rhythm of the cloaked and hidden chorus.
Their chant surrounds us with a single voice
That I strain to hear; What was it they said?
Why don't you leave me alone when I visit the dead?

By the Sea
I took a walk along the shore,
And looked out toward the sea.
My mind could only think one thought,
It was of you
oh the joys of agony
etched deep into my soul -
barren solitude in
a world full of
beating hearts with
no compassion.

Her fragrance lingers in the heat
What chance that we again should meet
On distant shores
