I sit alone outside in the dark for a reason.
Watching for the night with vagrant eyes;
It's dark enough that I don't have to look

While I train my senses on the gathering black,
And rhythm of the cloaked and hidden chorus.
Their chant surrounds us with a single voice
That I strain to hear; What was it they said?
Why don't you leave me alone when I visit the dead?
