THE DARKNESS OF BEING
Follow the light, or so I was told.
Play in the sun, soak it up, and smile.
Put happiness in your heart and hand.
But the light, always fades.
Avoid the dark, hide inside, turn a light on, and frown.
Put depression in your heart and hand.
Whether or not the weather controls how we feel,
I just put on a smile and enjoy the ride.
But seeping over a bridge, fog always engulfs.
Clouds and hides.
and the smiles break.
They become turned, sideways, or even curled down.
Fight as I may, May has gone.
and December is on its way.
