As much as I would like to say exactly what the best game on the Xbox 360 is, I cannot. Unfortunately I can't provide a definite solution for all the gamers out there wondering what game to buy next. I can, however, provide you with a few of my favourites.
My absolute favourite 360 game is...well, I can't say that either. For me it's a tie between the Bethesda game 'Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion' and the BioWare RPG 'Mass Effect'. I'll start with Oblivion.
This was one of the first games I bought for my 360, mostly because of the glowing praise I had seen plastered all over the Internet. And, after playing the game to its end (which, might I add, is not as easy as it might sound), I can say that I agree 100%.
Let's get one thing straight right off the bat. This isn't a turn-based, unrealistic, slow as can be game. First of all, its all first person. The combat is real time. This makes for some great (and often frantic) fighting that really enhances the immersion of the game.
Even before you get into the incredible character creation and customization, the immersive storyline, or the unparalleled lastability, you see the utter awesomeness of the graphics. They are incredible. Everything in the game is superbly crafted and polished. The conversations with the non-player characters (NPCs) in the game is a real treat. As you select the NPC, the camera moves in on their face, perfectly displaying every line, wrinkle or freckle on their faces. The 'Persuade' option (used to get NPCs to like you more) allows you to chose from 4 options, and each character reacts differently to them, which is reflected in their facial expressions (again superbly done).
Creating your character is amazing. Not only can you chose between 10 different races all with their own strengths and weaknesses, but just about every facial feature you can imagine, you can modify in whatever way you please. And we're not talking about 4 haircuts and a couple of different noses. You can change everything, from how far apart your eyes are to your nose-mouth-chin ratio.
Then you get to choose your skills, which is another feature of incredible customization and individuality. In all, you could spend hours customizing your player. And, if you realise down the track that you've made a mistake and should have chosen different skills, the game gives you a chance to change you choices.
As mentioned previously, the game has a wonderfully immersive storyline. Without giving too much away, it involves an Emperor,
